(2022)
This project was about solving pet peeves or something that bothered you. When coming up with a list of things that I could try to solve, I started to notice more regular things around the house that disturbed me.
Upon reorganising my bookshelf and rearranging my books, I was suddenly
bothered by the misalignment and varying sizes of all the books.
I was looking for a universal technique that was suitable to house every size of book.
I took inspiration from a contour gauge to have an array of thin laser cut panels that allow you to add up to the thickness of each book over 3mm. The length of the panel was chosen to accomodate my smallest and largest books. The panels are loose in a frame and have a threaded axle going through. When you tighten the ends of the axle the panels are clamped together by friction and thus can be adjusted and held at any height.
